  • Teaches two sections of COAD 1000 in the fall semester, which is a course designed to help first-year students transition into the college environment
  • Provides face-to-face advising for nearly 500 students in the College of Business related to academic matters and career counseling
  • Created, directs, and evaluates the College of Business First-Year and Sophomore-Year Living-Learning Communities (residential colleges for 75 first year business students who take classes together and participate in academic and social programs outside of the traditional classroom)
  • Implements programs throughout the year for students in the Living-Learning Community, such as an off campus retreat, welcome dinner for the family, faculty assistance with moving into the residence hall, lunch and networking with successful alumni who serve on the Business Advisory Council, dinner with esteemed campus speakers, and many other social and academic programs
  • Planned and directs the Peer Mentor program for outstanding junior and senior business students who provide mentoring and programming for first-year business students, which includes recruiting and interviewing outstanding students, taking mentors on an overnight trip for training and team development, holding weekly meetings, and overseeing office hours and interactions with students
  • Represents the College of Business when talking with media about the Living-Learning Communities and retention
  • Continually developing an Academic Plan for Success for students who are experiencing academic difficulty and regularly meeting with these students one-on-one to help them overcome the obstacles that hurt their academics the previous semester
  • Applying student development theory to a diverse population of students in order to assist with college retention and student success
  • Writes grant proposals to support the Peer Mentor program and received $5,000 from Target for the 2012-2013 year
