About

I am a teacher, administrator, and student of English with particular interests in composition, rhetoric, and writing center theory. I currently serve as the Assistant Director of the University Writing Center and teach ENGL 3875: Peer Tutoring (Spring 2015) at East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville, North Carolina. My past teaching experience includes three years at Metropolitan Community College (MCC) in Omaha, Nebraska, where I taught numerous sections of ENGL 0950: Reading and Responding, ENGL 0960: Fundamentals of College Writing, ENGL 1010: Composition I, and ENGL 1020: Composition II.

I earned my Master’s degree in English from Creighton University in Omaha in 2010, and I worked as a writing consultant at Creighton’s writing center for three years. In addition, I have served as a professional writing consultant at the writing centers at MCC prior to my current role in writing center administration. I continue to work a few hours a week as a consultant as I believe it is essential that I engage in the same work as the staff who I mentor.

I am currently pursuing the Certificate in Teaching English in the Two-Year College at ECU.
